Gâteau de Luxe

Gâteau de Luxe was founded in 1899 by Jacques Gâteau and Colette de Luxe, two friends born and raised in Veules-les-Roses, France. It all started when Jacques and Colette were having coffee together at his home one morning. Amidst their conversation, he lamented that his desserts did not draw as much attention in his father’s bakery as the other baked goods. Colette, having decorated cakes as a hobby, wondered if her skills would work with other desserts; “cookies are similar to cakes, only smaller,” she thought. Filled with inspiration, Colette ran to fetch her tools and ingredients, determined to help her dear friend - the rest is history.

For 124 years, the bakers at Gâteau de Luxe have worked tirelessly to bring their patrons the most beautiful and delicious confections, each one crafted with love and care, inspired by all the little joys in life. Every ingredient is locally sourced to ensure the best quality and a greater sense of community. The bakery features an open kitchen where guests can watch the master bakers craft their favorite desserts right before their eyes.
